Vote in the PhD Comics ‘Two Minute Thesis’ competition!
PhD Comics is a website that has always spoken to the graduate research student. To read these comics is to read into the hopes and fears of any student researcher. But lately illustrator Jorge Cham has been also using the website to help researchers share their work with a wider audience.
Currently the website is running a competition where PhD researchers share their work in two minutes - and the winners of popular voting get their work illustrated by Cham himself!
My friend and colleague Sara Ciesielski has recorded a two minute description of her work, which is looking at child language acquisition in the Sherpa community of Nepal. Here’s Sara and some kids in the amazing village where she works:

You can listen to her describe her work, and vote for her here. There is also some other great research up there, including a few linguistics projects. It’s definitely worth a browse!
